-
February 1, 2009 at 6:15 pm #200198
Rob Stenger (Lip Ripper) and I checked out the WI Deer Classic yesterday and got to see a lot of great bucks and saw some really cool innovative products.
One was a new Infrared (no flash) digital trail camera called ScoutGuard
It is absolutely amazing how small and compact this trail cam is and how well it performs!
A vendor called Advanced Whitetail Hunting were selling these cameras at the show. The ScoutGuard 550 (Green) only sells for $199.95! The ScoutGuard 550 (Camo) sells for $209.95 or if you want the picture viewing model it’s $229.95. And if you order now there’s FREE SHIPPING!
Rob and I will definitely be using the ScoutGuard camera this coming fall!
BTW – if you are interested in one of these cameras, send me an email (address below) and I’ll see if I can still get you the show price.
Here are some more details:
___________________________________________________________
The ScoutGuard SG550 is a 5MP Infrared Digital Trail Camera that is compact and lightweight and designed for most any scouting or surveillance application in mind. The unit features a 22 long range Infrared emitters that provide illumination up to 40 feet at night that will reduce spooking game animals or alerting unwanted persons to its location. The ScoutGuard SG550 digital trail camera takes not only still images but movie clips up to 640×480 pixels which will provide clear video when played back on a television.
The unit also features a unique remote control that is similar in size to an IPOD that allows for easy programming of the camera.
The camera stores images and video clips via an SD card and has no internal memory. Therefore it is recommended that the user purchase two SD cards so you can exchange one card for another when checking the camera unless
you have a device that will connect to the USB port on the camera. The camera will accept up to a 2GB SD card. The unit can also be connected to a computer using a USB connection or to a TV with RCA cables for playback of
movies and pictures. The camera operates on 8 AA batteries though you can run it on 4 but will see a significantly shorter battery life if you choose to do so. Reports and tests on these cameras seem to be indicating that one can expect to get
approximately 2,000 pictures on a set of batteries!ScoutGuard SG550 Trail Cameras are sold in Solid Green or Camouflage styles and offer a 1 year warranty. The camera comes with a USB cable, RCA cable, remote control, users manual, and nylon strap for attaching to a tree or pole.
FEATURES:
• 5/3 Mega Pixels CMOS sensor, high quality picture
• Auto LED IR-Cut-Remove
• Compact size, only 5-1/2X3-1/4X2 inches!
• Ultra low stand-by power consumption (<0.2Ah/month),
• Extremely Durable
• Runs on AA batteries
• Quick trigger time (<1.3s)
• Lockable with mounting strap, nail/screw and cable lock
• Unique remote control that’s easy to operate
• Motion Triggered day or night
February 2, 2009 at 2:20 pm #47130This is a pretty slick camera that I will be putting to the test here this Spring. I’m amazed at the size of the Scoutgaurd. No more worrying about lugging a heavy camera or 3 in and out of the woods. This is lightweight and will eaisly fit in your pack. More to come on this camera.
February 2, 2009 at 8:42 pm #47173Wow, that thing looks really slick. I’ve been in the market for a trail cam, just haven’t pulled the trigger yet.
Lip keep us up to date on that one.

I don’t have any of the down loads from yesterdays pics. I had to be back at the Wisconson Classic Sunday at 10am and Brad & Rob kept me out to late.
February 3, 2009 at 3:30 am #47213Looks like a nice outfit
Cool pics and I like the accomodations
Maybe someday when I am rich and famous, I can do a hunt like that. Only $250 to have a hunt filmed

If possible, sign me up for one of those Brad!!! This product almost sounds too good to be true, however I have grown tired of switching batteries and paying $ out of my
for them… Thank you!!!
February 3, 2009 at 3:16 pm #47232G, Butch Fox is a great guy and they know there deer over there at Bluff Buck Outfitters. Brad and I had a tour of the place last weekend. They lease a ton of land and do not let that many hunters on it. I would highly reccomend them.
February 3, 2009 at 11:31 pm #472531 month, 4000 pics, battery still at 100% in below zero temps …I agree it sounds too good to be true. If it is true and the thing takes pics it will selling like hot cakes…Ive been using trail cams for along time and if your statement holds true Ill be changing them all out with this camera

February 4, 2009 at 11:10 pm #47325I’ve received quite a few PMs for members who are interested in this camera. I’m also checking into the 550V. Anyone else want one?
February 11, 2009 at 10:08 pm #47594You can keep the camera of mine from last year, just get me one of these new ones, instead.
