Just curious. What happened to the other pope post. Hard to believe a post about a pope would get dusted.

I never saw another one. But we all know posts about religion are taboo but posts about gambling are ok. Makes ya scratch your head as to where we as a society are headed doesn’t it.

I saw it when it was first posted yesterday and then later it was gone. If you go to the “General Discussion” home page, at the top there is a message now that political and religion related topics will be deleted. I dont recall seeing that before but I normally just go to active topics not the home pages.

I wonder if this one will be Catholic? Anyway I bet this thread gets dusted before a new pope is selected.

I wonder if this one will be one of the ~1700 known, living catholic priests who have had documented allegations of sexual abuse brought against them without consequences

I’d go with 100% on the Catholic I’d also bet heavy that its one from Italy. Of the 266 total popes Italy has by FAR the most at 217. followed by France at 16 and Germany at 6. Like I said in the prior post that got dusted, It would be great to see it be someone younger, but that will never happen. There was a time that the pope was considered to be one of the most important people in the world. Not so much anymore.

Yes, disparage all 407,000 for what .4% have done. Sexual crime is rampant among all religions and people… while disgusting, Catholic priests hardly have the market cornered.

Bucky i asked this on the other thread. Will the new pope also hide and protect child abusers, rapes , and forced abortions to the nuns they sexually assault, and then pow the thread was gone. I thought it was a legit question. Pretty disgusting people to idolize.

I disliked the Pope… am looking forward to one who knows his place. I question anyone who lives among piles of Gold behind walls, telling me that I need to remove my walls & have compassion and help these “migrants”. Ummm … no.

I’m a Catholic. My one school-aged child goes to a Catholic school and the next 2 will as well.

I still do not hesitate to speak my mind on the atrocities that were permitted and went unaddressed for decades. The only way to ensure it doesn’t happen/continue is to make it a modern issue and to hold those involved responsible. If that means throwing a 75 year old priest in prison, so be it.

I must have been an ugly kid or we had good priests when I went to catholic school. They never wanted to see my junk.

I am Catholic as well… went to Catholic Grade school. I am pretty sure, they will put forth an Unknown Molester, not one of the 1700 known. That I can assure you of.

I wish priestertitians would look out for miners, not just minors in a congregation somewhere. Heck of a song.
