Anybody modify a Dakota Lithium charger to use an SAE quick connector?

I really like the SAE quick connector that came with my Marcum LX9, it allows a quick plug and charge vs pulling everything out of the case to get the alligator clips on the battery terminals.

Has anybody cut the alligator clips off their Dakota Lithium charger and soldered on an SAE plug? (pictured below)

I don’t see a reason that wouldn’t work. Solder it and shrink wrap it, and you should be good to go. waytogo

I’ve done the same thing with a different charger and multiple batteries used for a different application.

This allowed me to swap out batteries and charge batteries without stressing the terminals on the battery itself.

Yes. I have. Not the same connector but it’s well worth the effort. Go for it.

I’m sure it voids the warranty.

Great post Joe I have always liked those quick connect/disconnects! I guess if it didn’t work just reattach the alligator clips waytogo

I did this as soon as I got them with the 2 I bought last fall for lx7 and lx9. Did exactly what I wanted and have had zero issues.
