Seems some people were upset thinking I was going after women. Couldn’t be further from the truth. I was wondering why women played in uniforms designed for men. We all or at least most of us know women are built differently then men. I would think that somebody could design a uniform designed to fit women better than a mens uniform. That was my only point, I in no way was taking a shot at your wives, girlfriends, sisters, daughters ,mothers or grandmothers.

Now to address the other points brought up. I don’t recall those many years ago when I signed onto IDO needing to pinky swear I would only post about fishing & hunting. If I overlooked that I’m sorry. But since I don’t recall it and James hasn’t banished me, scolded me or warned me to post only about fishing / hunting I’ll assume I never had to agree to that. I post under general discussion. I post stuff that sometimes interests me or I think others might be interested in. I post to get people to think about some topics, laugh at some and even get angry at others. I don’t now and never have or never will make a post to debate the subject. Whether you agree with me or not doesn’t really matter to me.

If I fish or not doesn’t matter. If I’m good at it or not doesn’t matter. I don’t start threads about fishing because I don’t want to. If I have something of value to add I find a related thread to add to. I don’t post trophy photo’s because I don’t have long enough arms to make a 16” Bass look huge like others here do. If somebody starts a thread that interests me I’ll open and read it. If I can offer something constructive I will, if not I just follow along. If the subject doesn’t interest me or if I don’t like the author, I’ve found that through perseverance and will power the ability to not open the thread at all! I know some of you find that impossible to do but it can be done.

To those of you who continually take your shots at me thinking I will fire back, I won’t. This is as close as you’ll get to getting a reaction from me.
To those of you who hate me and want me gone maybe a concerted PM writing campaign to James will make that happen. Or, maybe I’ll just go away? Either way, I’m not so important that it would matter here.

I mustve missed whatever post you are referring to. So what you are saying is you just throw something out there with your posts just to get a reaction but dont really generally interact afterwards? IDK, that seems almost childish and I really dont mean that as a shot. WHy even post it at all if you are not going to react afterwards to replies? I get not replying to certain comments or posters, but it would seem that is what a forum is about interaction right? I mean you are seeking interaction, but based on what you said you are not interested in that after your initial post.

I have noticed it’s mainly the same handful of people that call you out on every single post you post. Some times I feel that those same people are the same that get upset about most posts they don’t agree with and I’ve also noticed that some of those same guys just want to be negative toward you know matter what kind of post you post.
I don’t let others opions urine me off, if it bothers me I just pass on or I try to post something knowledgeable against it. Not just me and my emotions getting angry. Also some late weekend nights I have a few to many cocktails and post some ignorant replies. But that’s life.
I don’t mind your posts and I get that they are usually to fire up a discussion where it’ll be very 2 sided. Alot of the guys that complain that you don’t post on fishing posts also really don’t give any fishing advice or any thing else very useful, lots of them just make posts to prove they know EVERYTHING!!!! I personally post enough fishing and hunting stuff to stay partially usefull. But most of the time I’m pretty worthless around this forum. rotflol

The issue is that you haven’t figured out yet that it’s 2023 and you have a narrow perception of what “fits” or is “designed for women.” End of discussion as far as I’m concerned.

On the rest I don’t care what you post. I usually ignore it because it doesn’t interest me. This one crossed the line in my opinion. And it’s disingenuous to feign surprise at the reaction, because it seems pretty clear you were fishing for reactions with that post. “Just an observation, but these girls on TV look fat in their uniforms.”

This is the point I got from your post and I agree. I think goes beyond sports and into anything outdoors too. “Shrink it and pink it” was the concept years ago and more and more companies are realizing women are fundamentally shaped different than men and rarely are two women shaped the same. We need a different cut for both tops and bottoms to allow for extra room and curves.
I think most would agree a size 12 woman isn’t a “fat” woman, but squish her into a size 6 and she’s going to look like a stuffed sausage. Certainly doesn’t mean she’s fat, it’s simply an unflattering size and fit.

Dutchy, the world needs a mixture of options for better or worse and I for one am glad you’re here!

Glance over at the clothing section of a department store sometime. You’ve got men and boys for one side. And the other has girls, juniors, misses, women, and petites. Some things are so much more simple for men, and clothing is definitely one of them! moon

You can’t honestly think women softball players are playing in men’s uniforms can you?? Come on DB, really? It’s not at least conceivable to you that sports companies have developed softball uniforms that are made for women?
And because they don’t fit every women just perfectly you have to take a shot at them(sausages)?

I find it funny how the woman here isn’t offended at all but the men are. Lol pretty much sums up our world today. Be offended for every one. Even when the comments were not even bad. Be really offended for no reason. Lol. You guys act like he’s digging at your daughter. Not even kinda.

It’s at the point we protect pedophiles over our own daughters. Our bathrooms are now men who claim they aint and girls room over just girls. A 35 year old weirdo should have the right to be in the rest room with my 7 year old daughter. Won’t happen when I’m around but it’s happening every day Sadly. Sorry if that’s offensive. IT IS THE TRUTH

Well welcome to Minnesota, land of the snow……FLAKE! The current culture of walking around with a chip on one’s shoulder, looking for offense at every turn, diminishes the offendee. If you’re one of those folks, take a breath and relax. What’s to be gained from you blowing a head gasket over minutia?

    Jesus, loosen up peeps!
THe DB explanation is just that – should not even be needed – don’t like it move on.
I think it’s spot on myself. Cant understand why the women of this country are not storming the white house to tar and feather this administration for the obliteration of women? Cant define what a woman is?!?!?! WTF Men modeling womens bikinis WTF?!
And no, it AINT progress toward a better society its just plain nonsense because .5%^ of the population is driving the ship right now. This issue is a social construct led by a few individuals with an unrealistic view of what “should be” The George Orwell handbook of some sort if you will. To each their own.
Yes, the women’s uniforms are not designed for women – my two cents but I am not in the position to make those decisions.

is it snowflakes that are the problem? or is it people who feel they can say whatever they want to whoever they want with no repercussions because they are able to hide behind their keyboard?

If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all. Amazing how far simple mentalities like that will get you in life. Even more amazing is how many people love to be rude to other people for no reason at all.

i think a lot of thoughts, some good, some bad, some funny, some funny just to me, some not so funny, some nice, some rude. just like most everybody else. thankfully my frontal lobe helps stop me from sharing most of those thoughts, just like it does for most everybody else.

having a keyboard in front of you doesn’t compel you to post nonsense. and when others say, “that’s nonsense” it’s an issue you’ve created for yourself…

Why isn’t there outcry on women’s beach valley uniforms? Haven’t heard any complaining of track and field athletes buttcheeks hanging out during the Olympics, and those vball shorts are, well, short. When the other side of the coin is flipped and its appealing there’s no issue. That’s the problem.

Softball uniforms were made just like baseball uniforms to play a sport where you catch, throw, and hit a ball in a diamond of grass and sand. Let’s keep it simple folks, there is lil difference between the two on an atomic level. Actually theres more of a case for softball to wear tighter uniforms as the pitching motion is so close to the body unlike a baseball pitch. It’s rather ignorant to think the elite softball players of the world hasn’t thought of the various aspects of their sport and wondered if they can change it in any way to benefit their players.

If there wouldn’t have been those “stuffed sausages” on the field to offend dutchys eyeballs this entire thread wouldn’t even be a thing, and that’s the problem, circle back to first paragraph.

There’s the Marla Hooches in every sport, men, women, don’t matter, they’re people with their own life’s difficulties, happiness, with family and friends like the rest of us. And if those folks reached what is almost the pinnacle of their sport, which D1 softball most certainly is for those players, then I think they are doing pretty darn well for themselves and whatever body type they may have.

Backpeddle all u want Dutch. The motivations were fully laid out in your op.

There is a difference from being offended or a snow flake and calling someone out for being an ignorant A-hole. Or making a comment that makes you sound like one. Was I offended No. I am not even sure who he was calling a stuffed sausage.

The true “snowflakes” of our time are the people in society who spout off about any topic to seek attention and then think that they won’t be called out on their comments/opinions/a-hole statements. coffee
