West Okoboji night fishing report,August 8th,2003

Wade and Tamamra Kuehl met me on West Okoboji for a little bit of night walleye fishing. We fished smallies for just a liitle bit so Tami could try to get a good fish and she came through with a 16" fish.We ended up 6 walleyes with a 16.5" fish being the big eye for the night. We also caught a few big white bass and some huge gills. We worked water in the 12-30′ range and caught the eyes on lindy rigs and jigs tipped with leeches. It wasn’t the best night on the water as far as fish go but it was a very fun night to spend with some good friends. We fished until 1:00 a.m..Wade had put a post about night walleye fishing on the site a few weeks ago so I hope this little trip was a learning experience for him.We did pull crankbaits in 10′ of water for awhile but had no luck. But it did give Wade a chance to work with line counter reels and how they work. Here is a picture of Tamamra’s smallie.

  1. Ryan, can you believe this is the first time I have seen this post!

Anyway, thanks for the fun night of fishing and Tamara says thanks too! We enjoyed it. Now I have to explain to her why I need to spend another hundred bucks on a fishing reel!

    Thanks bud!
