I have a different brand on my 25 year old boat trailer…. Leak a little all the time as the manufacturer says they will when the oil expands. Once a year add a little and every couple drain and add new. So simple. I contemplated changing out but honestly love them. I may swap seals in back eventually…. But have grown to like having them far more than grease.

While I was use to target walleye almost exclusively with the ‘17 Lund… since getting my Hobie Outback a couple years ago, the big boat has not seen the river. I don’t get there often (SE WI) but now I fish for whatever is willing to play. I spend most of my time in backwaters or select quiet areas.
The beauty of fishing in the kayak is how simply great the experience is…. I see a rocky shoreline, I may cast cranks for bass or walleye. A panfish feeling tree…. Now I’m hunting for crappie. Because you have less range, you fish for what the river gives you. In my experience- nothing beats it. Become flexible and simply enjoy it all. My best times have been in shallow back areas, see no one and knowing big boats can’t get to where I am. The experience is awesome…. Then finding fish willing to play makes it even better. Having the kayak has greatly changed my expectations…. And don’t get me wrong, fishing can be great when you slow down and target fishy areas in a different manner.

You got this Chuck. And if someone gives you crap at the landing, just ask if they have done it with an RV. toast

LOL…. I would try to avoid crowds as usual…. But if it took 3 times as long as in my truck, I would still beat enough guys to enjoy saying this.

No More motel concerns will be great… just need to find a place to hide a 30’ rv near the launch to spend the night without getting kicked out.

I pull my 20′ Lund Pro V with my V10 22′ Class C motorhome a lot. But, that 30′ you mention is a much different beast than my little 22′.

I’m hoping if we end up with the 30’ it won’t matter much…. Most 22 models are 25’, so hoping it won’t matter much )

    Thanks all!

Follow up ???? I’m a mirror guy…. How important is the backup camera when doing this with a motorhome? Just another prince of info or crucial?

I cut the center out of the seal, leaving the edges on and it helps…. Better than ripping it all of anyway.

I store gulp minnow jars in another plastic container just to help keep them upright as well.

I have an older Terrova that was starting to give me problems and the accuracy of spot lock wasn’t the same either. Turns out it is old enough (I think 10 years old) that Minkota stopped offering parts.
Good thing…. For those like me that were unhappy that they didn’t offer an upgrade to the new blue tooth much better system, the service dealer I work with in Wisconsin put together their own upgrade…. Replaces controller, head and base electronics with all the new totally up to date stuff. The $800 or so felt like a great option vs buying new. Just installed it all and off to calibrate it on the water this weekend.

I got two from one weekend…. Driving each way through that town for work years ago – really late at night on an empty highway. Can’t remember the cost, but it was a lot… my lesson, stay out of Iowa, Cedar Rapids for darn sure. I expect to pay a ticket now and then, two big ones in 48 hours exceeded my threshold (

Do it in a rental car where that company adds a surcharge and it is even worse.

    Beautiful furniture…..

A thought, if offering to help move, the concern comes up what if something happens in the process… damage to the furniture or a home, whatever. (Been there). It can happen. Contact a local mover, send pics and those dimensions- get even a rough flat rate plus per mile cost for letting an insured professional group do it. There’s a cost, but a huge piece of mind in the end. Maybe advertise you’ll split the cost, ya can always pad some of that into the price. Everyone finds comfort in a professional mover handling it.

Finding a higher end used model where someone is moving, going bigger or such would get the best value…. The entry level versions of most mowers are just not built the best any longer. From the frames, decks, motors, none of it.

Keep in mind what lasted 10-20 years last time isn’t made the same now days. Like any old appliance, it is hard to buy anything built to last as long as they use to.

Yea I would guess that is less speed as well…. But really it doesn’t matter. On the small claims thing…. Unless it makes you feel better, it is usually all lost time. The individual usually won’t even show up for the court date and then you get an auto verdict that still means next to nothing to someone without insurance anyway. Then you are out the filing fee, serving fee and have to file judgement processing after, all costing you $. Fight the battle to get your truck fixed right and move on being happy no one was hurt.

All this, and the first time you sit in a court room trying to fight this you will have a sick look at the other side of less scrupulous people…. It simply isn’t worth it.

    Congrats!!!!

Lake Erie can kick your rear end but just as often it is nothing less than amazing. Where did you fish out of?

I have the hi-end mustang and like it. I like it as it was the most comfortable one I tried on and I know if it wasn’t something I could almost forget I had on, I wouldn’t use it.

Just changed out the auto inflate thing…. It was a little tricky but once I put some readers on And. Oils really see what I was doing, was quick… I won’t say painless as they are a little spendy, but…

I need a standard good kayak vest if I can find one…. Odds of me getting wet are high enough I won’t wear the mustang for that.

The track system is so popular and standard in size there are a ton of rod holder options out there for far less less traxtech.. possibly like you have.

Having fillers is nice… more comfortable if leaning against and they can be anti slip as well. I used a table saw and made some out of plastic boards from Menards…. They are white, but work well and are cheep. Nice thing is you can make extras, cut them down and use as fillers around the rod holders you may want to leave on the boat. Just use an end cap off your track for the sizing and cut the boards down.

As said, those tracks are super nice and I simply made fillers for them vs buying em. The plates that fit in them for rod holders are the most universal out there…. Accessories for holding grills, cup holders and such.

If you know you want other accessories or style rod holders you like, just look around. Sell the current stuff if it is overkill or not your style. I’d be in the market as well…. Bought my current Traxtech stuff used here years ago…. Would love to add to it but can’t spend the $$$ for new.

Since there is another question, I’ll add to it… are you selling and shipping the 5131 if that is your suggested route to go?
    Thx

Sheldon…. Where is your shop located for my own future knowledge?

This fuel treatment, are you going to be retailing and shipping it?

A few months before your ready to buy start trying to get a Ford PCO (cash offer). I have gotten 3 of them over the last 3 years ranging from 2-3k and have been able to use them all towards new trucks.

Explain this…. Guessing simple but I’m missing it

I have a brother-in-law picking up a ‘19 F150 tomorrow that came down from Canada. Full warranty, no question.

Looking on the local Ford dealer lot, they had a number of ‘19-‘20 used trucks. Sales manager he knows told him right up front many of these local trucks are tagged with titles stating Lemon law returns. Didn’t get an explanation, but have to wonder if it was so to parts not being available. Either way, he went with this Canadian truck as he didn’t want that on a title.

Call me cold, but I’m not going to take out insurance on a dog. Partly because dog owners should have money set aside for expenses associated with owning a dog, and partly because they are an animal. Any dog we get in the future will be a rescue special, and nothing more.

A lot of people consider their dog to be part of the family. I’d rank mine on equal levels as my kid, if not higher. Call me cold, but I prefer dogs over kids any day of the week and that includes my own lol

Probably not a popular choice…. But I run a low cost 40# braid to help fill the spool with a mono leader based on what and where. Walleye on Erie, 12-20# mono 50’ leader, lake Winnebago (much smaller fish and clear water) 10# leader. This way I can simply swap out for salmon fishing on the same weekend if I wish.

Drag settings I feel feel are just as if not more important.

I go solo every time… sort of sucks, but easy to adapt to the changing weather and all for planning:). I think you’ll be in for a great time…. And in the boat with PJ, how cool would that be. Enjoy, and please do post and keep us up on it all!
