Me too! Congrats on your 300. Dean, I’m surprised we didn’t run into each other shooting fingers indoors or IBO.

I had the grabbing issue and found that one of the blades had loosened, I defrosted to melt off all the ice and tightened the blade bolts and cured the problem. I am also getting the black slug coming out the exhaust and believe I may have mixed the fuel too rich.

I have bought several boats from Warner’s Dock and they have serviced all of my boats. They are good people and run a good shop. I highly recommend them.

We caught fish throughout the day but morning and evening were best. During mid-day we moved deeper and did find some nice perch then moved back shallow for the evening bite.

We fished Bitter Lake at Waubay Sunday afternoon, Monday and Tuesday morning.
There were vehicles and wheelhouses on the ice, most appeared to be on the bays and perimeter areas. We traveled with wheelers and 2 man flip shelters and the fishing was pretty good considering the arctic air. We caught quite a few walleyes ranging from 12″ to 18″. Most in the 14″- 16″ range. We caught a few large perch with 14″ being the biggest. Our best depths for walleyes was around 18′ and for perch 23′. Dead sticks accounted for about half of the fish with a variety of spoons and jigging raps making up the rest.

the Apple River in Star Prairie is also a good bet and it is public park on the east side of the river.

I agree with sticker. I use a lot of braid but when it comes to the boards find the mono much less problematic. If I run an in-line weight and the water is clear
I frequently run a floro leader from the weight to the bait.

As Lundojam said, Agate bay reef can be good and there is good structure around Doe Island. If the wind kicks up trailer down to Isle or Wahkon Bays. There is a lot of structure in and right out front of both.

We happened across a school of smallies while jigging for eyes and boated 21, that was by far the highlight of our week end. Only caught 7 walleyes. 2 were legals, 1 under and the rest overs. Good week end but sad to see so few on the lake, I feel bad for the local businesses.

I have used the split shot as a slip sinker stop and it works fine. I have also used a bobber stop with a bead between the slip sinker and stop knot. The bobber stop allows you to change your leader length and will not crimp or nick the line.

I have been doing the same as 4walleye with very favorable results. If the water is murky you wouldn’t need the leader but I still use this as it seems to help minimize the line twist.

I was there last last weekend, fished Bitter. We got around pretty good
But there are some drifts and if you get up to the frame you’re stuck. I tugged out 3 and got pulled out, too. Take along a strap. Good luck.

I have used kerosene and WD40, are those a bad idea?
