Thanks for the report. I’d love to come up and hit the ice up there some time. Are you guys fishing where the Clements fishing barge is? How’s the ice holding up?
December 22, 2008 at 1:50 am #730625some teflon runners would help you out. check out this website and search for teflon, then click on bars/strips, then select 1/2″ thick, cut to length, 1″ width. I think this is the same as hifax.
December 16, 2008 at 5:10 pm #729212I played with my new 55 last night for a couple hours and found the following:
In 15 fow I could see my diamond jig/spike very well with the narrow beam and gain setting of 8. If I switched to the wide beam I had to turn the gain up to 22 to see the jig. That is terrible!!
I’m sending it back and getting a LX-3 or LX-5 I think.
December 8, 2008 at 3:08 pm #727044hit 3 solid ponds over the weekend ranging from 1.5 to 5 acres and they all had 2.5 to 4 inches of solid ice on them. Game on
November 26, 2008 at 1:37 pm #724536Been a little slower the last couple nights but there have been a few 4-5 lb eyes and saugeyes showing up. I don’t know why they’ve slowed down or if they’ve moved or what but day to day can be hot and cold. Keep after ’em.
November 21, 2008 at 2:57 pm #723696Luke, the size of the saugeyes this ice season is going to be very impressive!!
July 25, 2008 at 11:02 pm #701454Nice report Nick. I’ve never fished Red Rock. I’d love to give it a try sometime. How clear/dirty was the water? I would love to be fishing the coralville res in my backyard but it’s so dirty the visibility is terrible. maybe it doesn’t matter as much as I think it does. Thanks!

February 16, 2008 at 2:53 am #655717the kid that was slaughtering crappies last year got them on a small forage minnow in pink and blue. i can’t remember if it was the spoon style or tear drop style but it was definitely hot.
for perch, we just swiss cheesed the entire bay and killed em on jig n raps. bring a little bit of every lure in every color and you should be ok!!
February 16, 2008 at 2:50 am #655715last year was 11 days later. it should be good this year as well.
Guys. I think we have one spot open so bearplotts can get in. i think love2fish started a roll call somewhere but don’t know where. can someone point me in that direction?
February 12, 2008 at 3:58 am #654181Guys, I’m still not sure if I’ll have one or two not coming up. I’ll try to get a solid answer tomorrow.
February 11, 2008 at 3:52 pm #653884I may end up w/ two openings. Bearplots will get one and you could have the other. I’ll let you know asap.
