I’m looking to give away my 10 year old yellow lab. Does well with hunting pheasant.
He bit my 4 year old son which is the reason why i need to give him away.
He’s in great shape.
Any suggestions or anyone interested let me know.
Thanks -

Interesting. Ripley’s got built-in protection, though it won’t protect against stiff branches, it serves it’s purpose for grasses, etc.

Fun fact that I am guessing most sporting dog owners know the answer to, but what are the purpose of a dog’s whiskers?
To help with sensory information getting relayed to the brain. Dog’s whiskers have a lot of sensitive nerves near the base. The whiskers help them explore through areas, see/touch their way through the dark, reflex to close…[Read more]

I actually have seen more and more folks using eye protection for their hunting dogs and I think it’s a great idea! Especially if the dogs are shorter, or hunt in areas with rough brush. No different than using a vest to protect their bellies IMO. And I think your dog looks pretty bad ass, too. She’s got a job to do and she takes it seriously!…[Read more]

Cute! Ripley looks like he’s made to romp in the snow! My boys are a bit too naked for these temps. Luckily they a good snuggle with their blankets now that it’s cold again.

Thanks for posting Sharon. I used to have a GSP growing up. I sure do miss her at times. Your dogs sure look to get plenty of love. I see so many GSP’s sit in a kennel 10 months out of the year and only get attention during hunting season… I feel bad for them. Glad to see you love yours 365 days a year as I did.

It was great to have a brief warmup. Ripley is fairly impervious to cold, but at -30 F, even he didn’t last long.
Saturday night, I strapped in my XC skis and took Ripley for a jaunt around a local lake. That was fun!
Yesterday’s ice sucked. I literally watched him slide down the driveway, and he fell several times, so we didn’t stay out long…[Read more]
