Custom Rods

I’m interested in making my own Ice rods. I just purchased my first custom rod. No complaints whatsoever on it. It’s just made me want to try my hand at building my own. Could anybody tell me where I could get set up with equipment, material, etc. as well as some helpful hints? Not looking to start a business or anything. just want to try my hand at making my own.
