Not much action in this group, so I thought I’d post some pictures of rods I’ve built over the past few years.

Red & Silver: 6’0″ St Croix SCV Blank cut down to 5’6″ w/ MicroWave Guides
Blue & Silver: 7’0″ St Croiz SCII blank, My wife’s walleye rod
Brown & Gold 3-piece: My 7 Foot BWCA Pack Rod. I need to do some repairs on this one before our trip next month. I snapped the tip off last summer… Oops.
Brown & Gold Ultralight: The first rod I built in 2008. A 5’0″ ultralight. I caught a fish on the first cast with this rod on a trout stream in Phillips, WI fishing with Dad. Too bad it was a sucker!
Ice Rod w/ engraved Cork Handle: I made 8 of these for my wedding. Started as St Croix Premier Ice rods. I cut the guides off and retied with wedding colors. The handle was engraved by a lady in Aitkin… and I wish I could remember who it was!
Orange & Black: 6’0″ St Croix SCII blank, my son’s rod.

I’m currently working on one rod for a coworker, another for my daughter and two ice rods for a friend’s wedding.

    Thanks for looking,

    Lars

I have not seen shoot-n-release on here for 2 years so I don’t think he will respond. What you do is do the crossover first and then go over it with the straight wrap. Or on the pic of the guide with the spiral wrap on top. He would have wrapped on the guide then spun the silver over that. Tape it off and wrap the two ends on to hold it in place. There are lots of great videos on youtube about decorative rod wraps.
