Problem solved! It was the prop. Filed down the cupping on the trailing edge slightly and the noise is gone. What happened was last summer I broke part of a blade off and replaced the prop with a different aftermarket brand, same pitch. These are aluminum. Didn’t use boat until late fall when I noticed the noise. Didn’t associate it with the new prop since I hadn’t used it for several months. Started researching and everything said driveshaft bushing.

Clarence Chapman sorry to hijack your thread. If you’ve replaced your prop lately maybe that is it.

    No worries my friend.
Its all good when solutions are found. That is the next thing I was going to try. Was supposed to switch out to my old damaged prop but completely forgot all about it. So guess what I am going to do next….

Heres a simple thing to try, take the prop off and see if the sound goes away

I was not able to recreate the noise out of the water with or without the prop.

Trwht57 was correct. It was my prop also causing my noise.

Iowaboy1 and I were hot on that trail also, you just beat me to it.
Tried out the new prop today and quiet as a mouse. Who would have Thunk a noise like that would be caused by the prop???????

I want to thank EVERYONE who contributed ideas and suggestions too this thread. Gotta LOVE TEAMWORK and now everyone who read or participated in this thread will be able to pass on the information about this issue to someone else.

    Tight lines everyone!
