WTF BK?????

So for a third time tonight I tried to reply to my own post and I get this, again.

With this antiquated site it might take a month for it to show up, be patient.

This is happening with more frequency lately, same laptop I have been using for the last three years, same internet provider, and from my work PC and the provider there that I have been using for four years now.

Just tried quoting on two other topics, same crap.
Let me know when you have it fixed, I will think about making a return.

Well I’m glad I’m not the only one. Had that exact same thing happen the last couple times I posted. I just let it do it’s thing and it finally refreshed and posted

I get it if I haven’t cleared browser history in a while but I do that a couple of times a day.
This reply is from my phone but same home server,I will not be surprised if it doesn’t post.

If you add more than 1 quote. The pic that ib1 shows happens to me if anything is double quoted. The site has been doing it for at least 6 weeks. 1 quote or just replying/posting not a problem.

I have been getting similar messages every time I visit the site or try to respond to a thread. It all started when I installed a VPN. It is very frustrating- it would seem that if I am logged into the site the server should be smart enough not to have to require verification.

What’s the deal with having to see if or about a secure connection???

When that happens to me I just play a Drinkin game by myself.
Each times I get vaped I take a shot of Yeager.
Some nights it’s pretty much lights out.

First, don’t take the website problems you are having personally. You are not being singled out to be F*ked with.

Again, it is almost impossible to fix a problem we can’t duplicate on any kind of consistency.

My recommendation is to compose all of your posts and replies in a word doc or email and copy/paste them to the website. If the post fails, you don’t need rewrite the post, just try again.

If he got that worked up about a website not working it probably makes sense to take a break eh?

I have figured out that the forum works best if you don’t quote, although sometimes it works fine if you only quote one post. and if you hit submit and it seems like nothing happens, or attach a photo and it seems like it didn’t post, the best thing to do is entertain yourself elsewhere for 5 minutes, come back, refresh the page, and your post or photo usually are waiting.

Like many of us, the forum doesn’t work quite as well as it once did. Not the end of the world.

I’ve been doing something similar for years simply as a safeguard against website errors and computer glitches in general. I type my thread or reply here on IDO and then before clicking “submit” I simply copy all of the text. That way it’s readily available to paste if I need to repost. It’s an easy precaution to take, much like saving a document before getting too far into it in case Word or Excel crashes or something.

I had issues posting to https://www.in-depthoutdoors.com/community/forums/topic/bear-spotted-in-northfield/

There were no errors but the post wouldn’t go through with links to news articles even if I posted without links and then went back and edit to include the links.

Seems like a gremlin is hanging out in the forum software

I am using Google Chrome on Linux if that is any help
