I spent the bass opener saturday on Prior lake fishing a small tourny with a buddy of mine. There were fish caught from 2′ to 22′. There are bass in every stage of the spawn. We spent our time cranking the outside weed edges to get our fish. We noticed lots of small bass, crappies, and sunfish when we went shallow.

What won the tourney? What was big fish? How do they hold a tournament where there is no where to park and you have to leave your truck and trailer at home? Just curious.
It was 27lbs that won the tourny on 8 fish. Real nice bag. You had to have over 20lbs to get a check. I was hoping to get all the results so I could post them, but I couldn’t get the info. This tournament weighed in at the beach and works real well. I know there is a tournament there this Sunday and they weigh in at Captain Jacks. There was still plenty of room at the access when we put in in the morning.
