Fished in the Musky League last night. We pulled up on our first spot and after just a couple casts, my partner was doing a figure 8 at the side of the boat and I guess not really not expecting much but a fish hit as he was lifting the bait from the water and pulled the rod out of his hand. I heard the splash from the fish and grabbed for the net, but all I saw when I got to the back of the boat was the cork handle being pulled under. We spent 30-40 minutes dredging the bottom hoping to snag it but no luck.
We moved to a new spot and my partner caught a decent northern. Both fish hit on orange baits, so I rummaged around my box looking for something orange. Found an orange bait and about 10 casts later found this fish. She came in at 40”. Great night on the water last night.
