New to Wisconsin River

    Hey all,

I just moved into the Spring Green area. I have been shore fishing on the Wisconsin in several of the boat launches and haven’t had much luck catching anything. I have been looking online trying to find some areas to fish and thought about going up by the dam in Sauk. What side of the dam is better? Or are there any other areas of the river that are ok to shore fish?

    Thanks for the help

Do you have a canoe or jon boat? I lived in Mazo for a few years and floated a lot of the river from Sauk down. There is a lot of good timber holding a lot of species along there. There is a lot of good areas for shore fishing, but access can be difficult at times.

I don’t have either of them, at this point I’m stuck shore fishing. Yeah I have notice that it is difficult to fish on the shore.

    Thank you for the help!

If you are going to fish by the Sauk dam, you probably want to fish the west side of the river. Not sure there is much for public access up near the dam on the east shore.
