Just wondering if any of you fine folks have been up the the Whiteshell Provicial Park in Eastern Manitoba? I am going on a trip to Caddy lake to target the behemoth crappies that loom in these water during the second week of June. If you have any experience fishing that area, I’d love to pick your brain about a few local lakes in the region. We plan to focus mostly on Caddy and the Cross lakes in the chain for crappies but we also may consider heading to walleye waters to target those Manitoba goldies. There has even been discussions of a potential day trip to the Winnipeg river…

Any tips, tricks, or pointers are welcome.

I have not fished there, but I have gone up for kayak surfing at “sturgeon falls” where the river constricts and creates amazing huge glassy standing waves. It is worth taking a peek if you make the trip, and the eagles seem to do well fishing at that spot. I can also say that the campground/facilities are great, and the yurts are very nice if you don’t bring a camper/tent.
