My friend Karen and I hit the canal Wed afternoon in search of some crappies. But first we trolled some points and picked up our first white bass in pretty short time. I think if we would have stayed there and fine tuned our baits and depths a little bit more, we would have caught more fish. But I really wanted to see if we could find some crappies. So we hit a few usual spots and just couldn’t get anything going. We went back in some coves and after casting 1/16oz jigs real slow, we ended up with a couple greenies, a couple crappie, and a LMB about 11″. Water was still about 68 degrees, so once it starts coming down, I’ll be having better luck I’m sure. Water level in the canal was up to almost full, probably about 6-8″ down.
