Nice. When I Wade fish, about every 25% of time I see a shark swim up to me.

Buy some fishbits and you’ll always have bait on hand. )

Doesn’t look like you’ll be needing your auger for a while.

    Fishbites Fish’n Strips® – Saltwater

I’ve used them to catch pompano, sheepshead, catfish, and others fishing the Port Aransas beach and jettys.

I’ve caught sea trout, Redfish and whiting on them. Also had what I can only guess was a giant Ray on one. He spooled me.

I hooked into a ray last winter that was about 24″ across the wings. Those animals are all muscle. Not fast, just strong and steady. Finally got it within a few feet and cut the line. No way I’m going to get close to that tail.

I hooked a little stingray while wading. Thought I had a red on until he got close and wouldn’t come off the bottom. I got out of the water real quick.

They are strong and tough to move.

I got good news and bad news. First the good.

The hurricane tide is high and I caught my first flounder, 19″. Caught it on the new fishbit jig and he swallowed it. I got him within 10 minutes of wading.

The bad news? I some how snapped my Penn rod pulling on the line as I went through the mangroves to fish again. So it was a short trip and I bet I’d have caught more fish with this tide.

Anyhow the fishbit jig worked well.
