I was just looking through all of your pictures from back east where you live and it made me realize how good I have it out here in Wyoming. We now have a shed season due to people pushing animals but that isn’t that bad. I figured I would post up some highlights of shed hunting from the years. I don’t find many whitetail sheds but find lots of mule deer and elk sheds every year. In fact I just sold a fair amount this fall to pay for the down payment on my new Lund lol. Enjoy.

Wow! That is impessive. Do you find them mostly on private or public land?
February 8, 2016 at 11:39 am #1598578This is all 100% public land. I am fortunate enough to live in a place that is essentially public for as far as you want to go with the exception of the river bottoms. Pretty much everything within a 100 mile radius of me is public. I have had so many 20+ horn days it is crazy out there. That last pic I posted of all of those sheds laying in the grass in my front yard was my take from one day last year. I am starting to see lots of one horned bucks running around now so it won’t be long now.

Flatlander question: Why “with the exception of the river bottoms.” What’s up with the river bottoms?

Haha I never thought of how odd that could sound. The River bottoms around here have more trees in them so I makes for nicer places to live ect. The big ranches are in those areas because the ground is more fertile so the hay grows better and it is easier to get water to those places. Most everything else away from those areas is just rolling sagebrush hills until you get to the edges of the valley where the mountains start then you get back into the aspen and pine trees. On a clear day (which most are) you can see over 100 miles up here with ease. If you go up on the mountains above town you can actually see the Grand Tetons which are about 120 miles to the north of us. It is truly a beautiful place and I would recommend a trip out this way to anyone that has never been to the Tetons or Yellowstone area.

February 9, 2016 at 3:18 pm #1598898Very cool…
If you don’t mind, what general area is that where you live. Been out there many years ago, but always in October when a couple buddies would go hunting.. Sure would like to get back.
February 9, 2016 at 4:37 pm #1598911I actually live in Pinedale Wyoming. All of these sheds are coming out of Sublette county. I’ll try to post more soon. I have thousands to pick through lol.

Not far off….just over the hill. LOL Beautiful country through there. I’ve wanted to live in that region most of my life. I’m not a fan of the touristy Jackson / Tetons area, but love that drive down 26.
February 9, 2016 at 4:55 pm #1598914Here are some more from this year. Enjoy.
Some sets from one weekend of sheddin……mostly 165-190 bucks
This is one of the bigger singles from this year. Scores 91″ as a four point side so if the other side matched and given a 20in inside spread this would be about a 202 typical.
A cool set
another decent day
And a short little walk after work with my dog Mercury.
Thats all for now more to comeFebruary 9, 2016 at 4:59 pm #1598915Not far off….just over the hill. LOL Beautiful country through there. I’ve wanted to live in that region most of my life. I’m not a fan of the touristy Jackson / Tetons area, but love that drive down 26.
Yep just over the hill. I can’t stand the Jackson area myself and hate all the tourists in the summertime that come through here. Although most days I am the only one on the lake so that is nice that I can still get away from them. I am lucky to live in such a place just wish there were more walleye kicking around. It is god’s country though.
February 13, 2016 at 11:27 am #1599612So awesome!! I’m jealous I went east instead of west when I was younger.
February 13, 2016 at 12:47 pm #1599620It would be so fun to have 10+ days again. SE MN gets hits so hard it’s barely fun to go out especially public land.
