    Has anyone ever fished Split hand lake?? Want to know if it’s worth the 2.5 hour drive for the day. Crappie and sunnys are five fish per person. Also looking at the DNR report. 17-268in walleye must be put back. I would assume there are a lot of walleyes too??? Any tips would be great!?

    It is a good lake, but I personally would not make a long trip to go there. Some days you can do well, others you get nothing. One thing for sure, there will be lots of traffic and that seems to keep the fish moving.

    Best tip – find the crowds and fish the outer edges and work your way away from the crowds.

    I fished it in early summer of 2016 and the larger crappie that I caught were just shy of 12 inches. The bluegill ran into the lower 9″ class.
