I am going to Roy Lake in late April and want to do some smallie fishing. I don’t fish smallies and have never been to the lake or area bass fishing. Can anyone give me advice on how to fish them?

I have never fished Roy but had some buddies that went up there semi regularly. There is a large rock underwater point on the lake which many people work with plastics and suspending crankbaits early in the spring. I know depending on the weather you may be able to get them going with faster and more aggresive methods, but if it is still cold water you will need to slow down considerably. Good luck and there are some large Walleyes and Smallies in that lake.
