July 26, 2009 at 4:39 pm #793191No…it’s either get caught up on some posts that I promised I would do…and a few others or break something of Deans.
I figured it would be safer posting.
July 27, 2009 at 6:57 pm #793423Not as big as some I’ve seen on here but my biggest one so far. Did ya know they have teeth in the back of their throat?
July 27, 2009 at 7:36 pm #793440“Awe come on Dad…I gotta HOLD it for a picture???”

September 25, 2009 at 11:38 am #806437I can’t believe there is actually a Sheephead photo tread…what’s next…dogfish?
October 31, 2009 at 6:39 am #813000Dogfish rawk… it takes as much skill to land in a 5# dogfish as it does about anything else that swims.
November 4, 2009 at 5:11 am #813838Great post and nice fish. Those things are amazing. I have had 4 sumo sheepies on this year. Its sad to say but I think Im starting to put some locations together for the larger ones. Mid to late summer the larger ones seem to school up deep on the tips of a few wingdams hear on pool 2. They get me every time because this is also where the walleyes are and a big sheepie hits just like a big walleye. A jig and a crawler or a black hair jig works great for them. No sheepie can resist the power of a black hair jig. 3 of my 4 large sheep head came on hair jigs this year.
It is also amazing how those things can tackle a crank bait. 5 or less of the 6 hooks on a crank bait stuck in the fish and he just wasnt serious about feeding that day. It is also amazing how well they can sew their mouths shut on a treble hook or swallow a entire crank with that small mouth. If walleyes hit that well we would never loose one.
Ill look back threw my photos of the summer and see what there is to add to this post.
Hate to say but there has been a few trips where these fish supply most of the entertainment for the day.
February 19, 2010 at 10:17 am #843920Here is our version of the Drum in SE Asia. I saw this big Drum in my local market today. I see these often here but this is the biggest one I have ever seen.

March 16, 2010 at 1:37 pm #854028Wh-wh-wha? When? Where? How?! That thing must have been a blast to catch! I thought the 5 pound drum fought hard!
March 19, 2010 at 12:36 am #855039May 2009 on pool 2. Hit a crank in 6 FOW. Covered the 30 inch Judge! My Personal best.

April 4, 2010 at 4:40 am #860483No pictures, but my girlfriend caught a sheep that was probably pushing 10 pounds on a swimjig last summer .. They are a nice surprise when fishing for bass!
April 5, 2010 at 3:56 pm #860836I’d love to catch one over 10#s. I think my best is about 5# so far. 10# might make all the babies I have caught over the years worth it.
May 28, 2010 at 5:36 pm #875854Nice fish. Then they get that big they look like mutants or like they have elephantiasis of the head. It’s like the front half of their body grew 10 times faster than the back half.
