Rock River Smallies?

    Jeff,

Sorry if this is off topic (not Walleye related). I’ve just relocated from Virginia to Rock County and am interested in this body of water. Being primarily a bass fisherman (water too shallow and warm for Eyes in SE VA) I’m wondering if the Rock has a decent population of smallies.

I arrived here in late summer and haven’t had a chance to explore any WI waters yet. Any suggestions?

Hi Slow_Roller, here are some lakes in your area to start exploring this spring. Geneva Lake in Walworth Co. Rock Lake in Jefferson Co. These two lakes have good population of smallies. As far as Rock River, Yes it also has a good smallie population. The Key here is to find them, and a great place to start is south part of Janesville where the Rock River flows. In Jefferson Co. up in Watertown on the south side right when you come in to Watertown on hwy 26 that also is a great place to fish smallie. Have a nice night Slow_Roller.
