Smelt or Herring

    Anyone guide me in the right direction as to where I could get some smelt or herring to use under tip ups? We used them out at Devils Lake last Spring and would like to try it out around here.

    You should be able to buy smelt frozen at any supermarket/grocery store. Don’t know if frozen will work for you.

    I used to buy smelt many years ago from the sea food department at the Barlow plaza Hy-Vee. Back then the store actually was still Barlows. I liked theirs because the heads were still on and they were decent sized. Maybe give em’ a call?
