No reports??

Either the fishin sucks down there or perhaps it doesn’t

don’t know about rathbun but a buddy of mine fished some farm ponds down there this weakend and did great on gills and bass. Fishin must suck most everywere in Iowa cause nobody has been reporting much at all anywhere for 3 weeks. Nobody wants to report on a bad day.

This is only what I’ve been hearing about Rathbun, haven’t been there so I can’t be sure of this. They plan to drop the lake to 900ft. Normal is 904. Getting it ready for spring floods. A few fish are being caught but it’s really hit or miss. I’ve also heard there is a shad pop. explosion and the crappies aren’t that hungry.
2 1/2 hr drive one way for me and a ‘maybe’ doesn’t seem to be worth the time. (If I had the time)

Yeap it’s about a 100 miles for me so I’ll wait til spring

When do the crappies start hitting down there?

Ice isn’t any good. I’ve heard that they start biting good at ice out, but never fished it during this time.
