What are you guys running on your 115’s for a SS prop? Had an experience this weekend with 4 full size adults in it and had a hard time getting up to plane. I’m guessing the Aluminum prop was flexing a lot. Getting about 35-36 out of the Aluminum prop with 1 or 2, But that was the 1st time I’ve had 4 in her and she didn’t like it…

Why a aluminum prop? Mine was a stainless prop painted black. Check yours, I’m thinking you have the same black prop I did.
July 14, 2021 at 5:56 pm #2048224im guessing it’s aluminum…No numbers or letters stamped in it anywhere. and the blades are a little dinged up like aluminum, And just the way it was acting …
July 14, 2021 at 6:25 pm #2048231Check with Dean I didn’t think they came with aluminum.
Or….maybe mine was aluminum instead of stainless.
July 19, 2021 at 9:29 am #2049082Back in the day, they were painted black stainless from our dealership. Cant speak for the other dealers. Many possible variables however, but I would speculate a one size lower pitch # will overcome the heavier load.
July 19, 2021 at 12:08 pm #2049165First off we need to know if its even close to being propped right. What is the RPM at WOT trimmed up? This would be with 2 people in the boat. Then what size and pitch is the prop you have on now? Answer these simple questions and win the prop prize. LOL Turning Point Props has a Prop finder on there web site, believe Mercury has one also.
July 28, 2022 at 12:23 pm #21381554 blade props give you lots take off torque. You said your at 6000 RPM at WOT so your propped right with what you have now. A 20′ fiberglass boat is kind of heavy for a 115hp to begin with.
