mayfly hatch?

    Just wondering if I missed the hatch this year or if it hasn’t happened yet? Metro area. Thanks

    There are hundreds of species of mayflies and they all hatch at different times.

    If you’re thinking about the really big ones, The “Hex” hatch, I haven’t seen any yet. Could happen any day now.

    They were hatching on the Croix Wednesday. Won’t be long and cities will be turning lights off to keep ’em away

    Did not see any sign of them yesterday on the lower end of pool 2.

    Saw many Sat and Tues night in upper pool 4.

    Last Friday they were thick on the upstream side of Lock #3. Hardy any on the down stream side.

    There was a lot hatching last night a the Colville ramp with a few popping up just before dusk down river in the Maiden Rock area.
