I know that walleye fishing is shut down from St. Croix influx to the north, but I was going to try and escape the Pool 4 crowd and try Pool 3 this weekend. Have never been on it and was curious on the early season fishing there. Looking for some general input. Thanks

Pool #3

The guys I know deal with the pool4 crowds rather than the pre-spawn bite on pool 3, at least this time of the year. When the backwaters open up it may be a bit different. Too bad Prescott to the dam isn’t open.

I probably wouldn’t fish Pool 3 often, but it would be another option to spread anglers out. Pool 5 is very underrated and a great option this time of the year as I am sure Pool 3 would be.

I don’t want to say yet. I’m afraid of the jinx!
