Rules of thumb for which plastics you go with? Thumper paddle tail such as pulser or keitech type vs ringworm vs twistertail/kgrub? And guidelines for color? Im relatively new to dragging, from what ive gathered its common to go with a paddle tail on the dropper and ringworm on the leader, especially if running a plain hook as a paddle tail works better with some weight. So guess what im asking is based on water temp, flow, clarity, etc, how does that affect what you start with for style and color of plastic.

While I do have a box with over 100 varieties I’ll give you the response bases in what I’ll be using in the next month.

    Pulsars, biggest size
Clarity where it is RIGHT NOW color is chart pepper. Can also use naturals like oyster or white/purple.

When water reaches 5″ clarity or less, it’s chart orange core or chart white core.

That’ll cover you the next 30 days.

I had good luck with the 4.5 in. H&K from Cabela’s last spring.

    Hoochie Coochie. They make them in 3 1/2, 4 1/2, and 5 1/2 inch.
