I would also vote yes. (if it is not too hard to do) It would be very helpful. I wanted to send some photos out last week and had to email it to my phone so I could text it out. What a pain in the butt.
Hi Sharon,
Very unlikely this would be added. IDO would end up being a huge photo storage hub. (Same reason we don’t host videos)
One option you do have is upload your photo to a photo hosting website like photobucket. Then link the pic in your PM. The other member can open and view the pic from there.

I just figured if we can already attach photos to a thread, why not be able to attach them to messages too. I don’t know enough about website mechanics to really know the difference.
I don’t think the embedding photo option is still functioning like it used to. So for now, it is just links.
One of the major roadblocks for adding new functionality or keeping existing options up to date is the aging software used to run the message board. Most of it is no longer supported.

Okay, thanks for looking in to it Jon! We will make due and share photos another way for those of us who’d rather not upload first to a hosting website.
Thanks!
Sharon I don’t know enough about Instagram since I don’t use it, but can they be used as a hosting site? I see in your siggy you use that.
I’m not sure. I could try it. I’m guessing though many folks will still just use texting or emails to share photos rather than have to send a link via an IDO message directing someone to another website to view the photo.
Plus, then I’d need to post the photo to Instagram first, and I don’t post all my photos. Particularly if, for a situation example, if I’m selling something and they want a photo, I wouldn’t post that on Instagram.
