Just curious. When do the White Bass start busting the surface on lake Pepin? I usually get up there the first week in September for a ton of fun catching them. Just seems that we have been too early for all of our fishing trips this year with the weird weather.

We saw a big school working the surface yesterday, but we were too busy whacking eyes on leadcore to stop and work them.
June 18, 2009 at 1:20 am #784795Thanks for the info Jason, I guess i can’t figure anything out this year. We were up there the first week of June looking for eyes and all we could find were 14″ ones. I guess I’ll be like the Chicago Cubs and “wait ’til next year”.
June 18, 2009 at 1:34 am #784805I was up on pool 3 on Friday and we ran into a bunch of them busting the surface. We got into a bunch of them too. Those fish hammer the cranks!
June 21, 2009 at 10:04 pm #785477I’m most interested in knowing when they don’t bite!
Whites, goats, cats, sauger…..They’re taking all the fun outta the job
