It seems whenever I catch Perch in the river they have eggs in them. So when do Perch spawn in the Mississippi River ?

Here’s your answer – http://www.gen.umn.edu/faculty_staff/hatch/fishes/yellow_perch.html#reproduction and a bunch more info to boot!
December 29, 2002 at 12:44 am #249586I’ve been seeing more and more nice perch on pool 4 in recent years. Nice ones too. < 10" stuff. They really seem to have an affection for #5 shad raps on lake pepin in may and june. This is just in the last 2 years or so and rarely if EVER caught any prior. I wonder what to attribute this increase in numbers or if they've always been there and I'm just catching them now. Anyone else seeing more nice perch on the river?
December 29, 2002 at 12:55 am #249588I have always found them in Lake Pepin at Hoskela around the beach and point areas. Caught them on #5 shad raps and on jigs with live bait. Other than that I haven’t seen many around.
