Newbie question on rods/reels

    To finalize…I ended up with the Daiwa Regal LT 1000. Fleet Farce put them on sale yesterday at $49.99 but of course didn’t stock them (FF has really gone downhill since reaquisition IMO). Scheels matched the price and I was going there anyway. Comparing the Regal 1000 to the President 25 I felt the Regal was a “smoother” feel so went that route. At $50…how wrong can you go anyway? Thanks to all for the info/advice. Now, can we get the ice to cooperate so I can have some fun and get off this computer?

    I just purchased a Daiwa Revros 1000 at FF, just spooled it up yesterday. I heard the drag is super smooth, and at $49.99 had to give on a try.
