New Scandinavian Cooking

Does anyone else watch it? It’s on PBS and I love it.
Was watching today and he was cooking Cod. He cut the tongues out and deep fried them. They looked delicious.

Got me thinking.
Do we have any fish here that we could eat the tongues, or has anyone here done this?

I know, might have to take a run at it. I haven’t caught one but I hear there’s some bigguns in Roosie.

I love this show. I learned a few years ago that putting hot water and hot dogs in a thermos makes for a great meal out on the ice.

I could’ve sworn I saw something about cooking fish tongue on the Meat Eater website a few years ago, I’ll have to got back and look.

Fish boils in Bayfield will serve the tongues. Whitefish I think.

Not really sure in looking at the picture how to actually get the tongue? It says that they’re not actually tongues but fish throats (duh). I’m guessing it’s the bony protrusion in the mouth that looks like a tongue cut out all the way back to under the gill plate. Not sure I’d go out of my may to try this, but maybe someday.

It’s a pretty decent show actually. Great scenery.

He’s usually cooking some type of fish with root vegetables…

All the recipes I swear starts with a pound of butter 😂. Love the show!!
