New Northern Pike regs on East and West Rush

    A little late to the party but just a heads up for anyone that fishes East or West Rush, effect July 1st the Northern Pike slot has changed.

    From the DNR website:
    Northern Pike: All from 26-40″ must be immediately released. One over 40″ allowed in possession.

    The old slot was 24 – 36″.

    It is also now open to spearing.

    I missed this info. Thanks for reporting. Not sure how you know a fish is 40.5 inches versus 39.75 when spearing?

    If it looks over 26″ then don’t throw. Problem solved.
