Looking for different mounts guys use that are reasonably priced to mount a hds 12 and 9 next to each other on the dash of full windshield boat. I have a ram that would probably work for the 9 but the 12 is big and heavy, what do you guys use

My Grandfather had an 12 inch Lowrance screen that he tried to mount with the biggest size ram and it didn’t work either. So he simply mounted it directly to the platform with heavy duty screws using the screen holder. He had initially wanted it higher up so it was at eye level when he was sitting, but it was simply too big and bulky.

I have seen some people mount 12 inch screens with a more heavy duty mount. Balzout mounts seem very sturdy but they aren’t cheap.

I have a 12″ mounted with a traxtech. Great product but they are very proud of their stuff and not afraid to charge for it. BECMDP-108

BC, pass on the idea of getting the RAM mount for a 12 inch sonar. I have the XL size RAM and it struggles keeping a 7 inch sonar in place.

That’s what I figured and wanted to know what other guys were running

I have heard good things about the ballzout and cisco mounts. They are pricey for sure, but they seem to be more stable than a ram mount for the larger locators.

Cisco, Ballzout, Blue Water Fishing Products, Precision Sonar, etc. Lots of products out there, you just have to pick one that does what you want. I have an HDS12 Live on a Blue Water mount. The mount itself was solid but the gimbal bracket had a lot of flex, so I upgraded that with a thicker, sturdier Bass Boat Technologies bracket.

No issues with my Ram and 12, but yeah lots of different mounts out there. Reasonably price may be an issue however.

I think guys are just using the wrong RAM mount for the larger units. They need the one with the giant ball. However the touch units are considerably lighter than the non-touch units.

Not sure if it will fit on your dash, but the RAM 109HU/109VU are really solid swing-arm mounts for big screens. My 93SV never moves at all, RAM website claims compatibility for as big as Helix 15.

That’s the mounting style I’m looking for, I need to get it in a certain spot to sit, not to much room for a 12 and 9 in that spot

I am referring to the big one lol. It’s like the size of a tennis ball. Still wasn’t big enough to support the 12 inch screen.

I have my graphs both on Ram swing arm mounts. Both are solid. I have a HDS Live 12 next to a humminbird 1199.

That’s the same mount I mentioned above, solid as a rock if you can fit it on your dash. For some reason they’re cheaper than a lot of RAM mounts too, you can find these for $60-$70 all-in with no need for extra balls, arms, etc. Heck that’s less than a medium length size D arm.

I am using a ram mount for a Helix 12 with no issues. It’s not even the biggest ball. It’s a tiller boat so probs doesn’t take as much pounding as a console.
