Found this little cutie when I was out morel hunting today. First time I got so close to such a young one. Picked up 18 morels within 50yds of it before I even noticed it. I was four feet away from it when I walked into the area but I had my “mushroom googles” on and it wasn’t the right shape.

Cool picklerick!!! Found a couple a week ago, left them grow hoping for more. Went back to check on them and they were drying up. I just picked them and crumbled them up and spread them about. Maybe get some next year? It was too dry here in my area.
We get these in our yard at the cabin every year and Im sure they are beefsteak morels. They look, feel and smell right but I have never tried them.
