March Browns and Light Hendricksons

    Both of these mayfly species are going throughout southeast Minnesota right now. The March Browns are a tannish fly and a bit bigger than typical mayflies in a size 12 or so. The Light Hendrickson has two sizes: one in a #16 and the other in a #14. The LH is a dirty yellow in color and can be tied with ginger or dun colored wings. Both the MB and LH have excellent spinner falls if you’re around in the evening hours.

    If you miss the hatch, I’d definitely be using some yellow PT’s in #14-16, as well as yellow/tan bodies emergers.

    Thanks for the post DA…was just talking to my friends ‘Boog’ and Jim the other day wondering when we’d be seeing these….I now know….Got to get out..
