If you hook a humminbird unit with down imaging to the built in universal ducer will all work except you would not have down imaging.
Would like to know before I bother to run wires to it.
Thanks

Here is an option to use the DI transducer with your MinnKota. I did this a couple years ago and it has worked just fine.
The built in transducer will work just as well as the remote does.
Anyone know where to get a new remote?
Thanks guys,
That would be good for me Mike. I have never had a problem with my remote.
Seemed to me the 2d didnt even work that well on mine. Luckily I had still had the old transducer on the back of the boat and enough cable to run to the front.
How much you want for your remote?
I guess I will try the 2D. I could run cable to the back but I though this might be more accurate depth for the guy in the front. Sometimes front to back when vertical jigging can vary quite a little.
I better keep my remote as it might be one good one in thousand.
Never know, it could go to crap next trip.
Thanks for the comments.
Steve – depending on the DI unit, you’ll likely only be able to use the 200khz, so the dual beam capability will not work using the built in US2.
The US2 transducer works very well on my Terrova…………oh, my remote has never failed me either.
I’ve never had any issues with my Minnesota built-in ducers, I hate cords….
Reviving an old post…Does anyone know or has seen a cover to protect the ducer while traveling? I’m not entirely sure that it will be an issue, it just looks like it could be and i would much rather not have to sink money into repairs if i can prevent it with a cheap solution
Wool sock over it for now to protect it from salt.
