With the winds blowing out of the south last night the water was a little lumpy but the fish cooperated pretty well. Setting up on our first pass at sunset we caught 5 fish with two fish over 8lbs. Our second pass produced three fish from 21 to 24 inches then things began to slow for us a little. The fish in our area were relating to specific areas and to maximize our catch we focused on repeating passes in these specific areas. We trolled both minnow baits and crank baits catching fish on both. We had a couple of baits that consistently produced through out the night but on our other rods we kept changing baits to try to find baits that they preferred we found that the fish did not respond well to high action baits. We caught 15 walleyes and a bonus pike that really inhaled a minnow bait.

Great report. Can you explain the difference between crank baits and minnow baits?

The crankbaits are deep diving baits such as Reef Runners or Rapala Tail Dancers and the minnow baits are shallow running baits such as floating Rapalas or Husky Jerks.
