perch on the chain

Got out a few times with the boys on the Madison chain chasing perch. Spoons with a ratso dropper were producing on schools passing through. Bigger fish where coming to a dead stick with a crappie minnow. I had one I set the hook on with the intent to handle it when I had the other rod up. A big perch almost hauled my legend and my vex in the hole. never seen a rod load up like that panfishing. Individual fish were tough bites but when the school comes through you get bit quick and can pop half a dozen and then a short break until another school comes in.

Sounds like a good time Kev…….
Might have to try to get down there this winter
