Well, as many of you probably know I have been waiting on my new truck since January. It was built April 14th but basking away in the sun somewhere (Mexico probably), but it has FINALLY showed up on my dealer’s website as “In Transit”. Probably be another month before it gets here, but who knows. So excited. I literally check their site every day, sometimes multiple times a day. Yeah, Im a dork, but its been excruciatingly long wait. I know some have waited far longer for HD trucks so I cant complain too much, but this is ridiculous. It’s been a year since I sold my other truck so I am not sure if I will know how to drive something so big. LOL

Anyone want to buy a 2019 Ram 2500 mega cab diesel?October 8, 2022 at 11:05 am #2151249That’ll be a workhorse for sure! How long of a wait for you do you think? Ive heard Ram wasnt as long, but since thats an HD I bet its longer than a 1500.
October 8, 2022 at 1:16 pm #2151257There are about 40k Superduty Fords sitting at Kentucky Speedway waiting for something. I have heard Ford has a shortage of the Blue oval badges and can’t sell without them, not sure of that is attributing to the Superduty issue.
Also have heard all these companies are going with wiring harnesses that have the wiring coated with soy instead of plastic, and apparently the rodents love it. So if your vehicle has been sitting for a while look hard for any rodent damage, and if there is any bring it up to your dealer. Chevy has apparently been crushing a good portion of their vehicles because of these issues.
October 8, 2022 at 1:30 pm #2151259Kentucky speedway has been full of thousands of fords for like over a year now waiting for parts.
October 8, 2022 at 1:39 pm #2151260I am surprised to find out my truck was actually built in the US. Figured it would have been Mexico. Sitting vehicles because they don’t have an emblem seems really dumb to me. Yeah I read about Ford and gm crushing vehicles because of rodent damage. The owner of the dealership just took delivery of his truck and he was waiting almost a year. When it came in there was hydraulic fluid all over the side that my son hastily got off. Would’ve ate the paint.
October 8, 2022 at 3:28 pm #2151273I’ve never wanted to spend $75K so bad. The Tahoe I ordered Aug 1st is sitting in Arlington TX. My old Tahoe has 222,000 miles and is falling apart around me as we speak. Was a good run though.

It WAS full, then they got it emptied out, it’s now full once again.
What’s a Stupidduty cost? $60k+? Multiply that by 40k. That’s 2.4 BILLION dollars sitting in lots.
Satellite photo from August 2022 to September 2022October 8, 2022 at 6:30 pm #2151287Ordered in March. Picked up last week! Very fortunate to only wait about 6 months.

You are definitely lucky since that’s an hd and it’s been longer normally.
October 9, 2022 at 9:06 am #2151328Eagle is that the big gasser? Interested to hear how you like it if so.
October 9, 2022 at 9:20 am #2151331This thread is depressing. Mostly reading the costs of these new vehicles. My truck is only 2 years old and I plan to keep it another 20. I just pray I don’t get into an accident and have to replace

It really is sad that they are crushing vehicles. Seems like such a waste. There had to be many salvageable items but I guess it’s better to just write it off then go through that hassle. Ford could of at the very least took the badging off since they’re holding vehicles without them.
October 9, 2022 at 9:40 am #2151338For a big gasser I think that new 7.3 Ford motor is the one to get.

Yes sir, 6.6L gas. I’ve got about 1,000 miles on it so far, mostly trailering 3-4k and averaging 12mpg. Smooth-ish ride with tons of low end torque.
Are those stock rims?
Yes, stock 20’s.
For a big gasser I think that new 7.3 Ford motor is the one to get.
Negative. Initially ordered one and canceled it almost immediately after test driving one. It’s got the same drawback my old 5.0 had. Plenty of power, but almost no low end torque. Plus I’ve heard nightmares on the 10spd being inconsistent and annoying when towing with the 7.3.

[/quote]Haven’t had a single issue pulling the dump trailer and skidloader, haven’t once thought it needed more torque, the motor is a work horse. And also no inconsistencies with shifting while towing or without a load. So I guess I don’t know where the nightmares came from. 😕. But without any load they ride like a brick poop house. But that’s a 1 ton thing. The at4 is the same way. We have both rigs at work. Both are great trucks.

I know that’s a different 10 spd in HD than the 1500, but it’s funny Ford developed the 10 spd for the half tons and gm shared something else with them so gm has it in their trucks. No issues with the gms but I’ve heard some issues with the fords. They are calibrated differently.
October 9, 2022 at 6:55 pm #2151404I thought the 7.3 Godzilla was going to be the one for me but our new work truck just crapped out. 22,000 mile and needs a new motor glad its inter warranty according to the dealership ours was not the first.

October 10, 2022 at 10:18 am #2151496Congrats on the new truck, my last one took 10 months.
After owning mutiple F350 diesel 10 speeds I can definitely say that I would not want another 6 speed. Until GM gets their upcoming 10 speeds available across their entire heavy duty lineup like the others already are it will only limit their sales. The upcoming 2023 Super Duties do not come with a 6 speed option anymore as well so it’s going to be the new norm.October 10, 2022 at 10:31 am #2151503Yeah, the 10spd is really the way to go these days. They shift a lot, but its so buttery smooth (at least in the 1500s) you dont even feel it. I do believe all HD GMs will be 10spd for 2023/2024 redo which are coming in now at least the diesels anyway.

Same for me ordered a 2022 3500HD Diesel with the 10 speed at the end of March, and just picked it up end of September.
October 10, 2022 at 11:26 am #2151520Do you know which plant your truck was built in? Curious as to how long it takes from the time it shows up on Dealer website as “In transit” to show up on the lot. My truck was built in Indiana. So hoping its less than a month from now.
October 10, 2022 at 11:34 am #2151524Mine was built in Flint Michigan. It shipped at the beginning of September, but there was a delay unlading in from the rail yard that pushed it back a couple weeks before I was able to get it.
October 10, 2022 at 11:41 am #2151525You boys have some pricey trucks.
I am looking at trucks now as well. The prices are insane but don’t see them dropping for 23 versions.October 10, 2022 at 11:50 am #2151527You boys have some pricey trucks.
I am looking at trucks now as well. The prices are insane but don’t see them dropping for 23 versions. No reason to drop when every one available is being sold. I am also somewhat in the thought of buying a new truck. Mine just rolled 100k, might hold it till my son can drive in 4 or 5 years and give it to him, then buy. It’s paid for and only moves on the weekends so millage doesn’t go up much

I am looking at trucks now as well. The prices are insane but don’t see them dropping for 23 versions.Yeah, but you’ll also get top dollar on whatever you trade in. Unfortunately I sold my truck a year ago. The build sheet of my truck is 3k lower than the window sticker on my truck. They better honor that.
