large frozen bait for tip up fishing

    Does anyone know where I could order large frozen bait (5 inch or more .. shad, ciscos, herring, etc) online in the state or nearby states? Thanks for the help!

    Stoplight bait in St. Cloud has large smelt. I’ve seen them 6-8” in their freezer.

    Be careful if using frozen smelt in Minnesota. A VHSV sticker is often required. Make sure you keep the smelt in the package labeled with the VHSV sticker. Not all smelt sold as bait is labeled as such. You don’t want to get caught with bait without the sticker – Don’t ask me how I found out about I found out about this !!!!

    Vado’s in Spring Lake Park sell frozen herring (VHSV), they’ll ship it to you too if you’re lazy like me and not want to make the drive there. )

    Not going to say the ‘W’ word, but uncooked hot dogs will also work, and the cheaper the better.
