Anyone notice any lakes in the metro opening up? I drove by prior and the ice was getting pretty dark. Just feel like getting the boat out…

Ran by Nokomis a few times since Friday. First few feet of ice along shore are gone and you can hear it cracking and heaving. Not long for city lakes, especially with the forecast rain.
March 26, 2020 at 8:45 am #1927482I live near Crooked Lake in Coon Rapids, MN. I walked by it yesterday to see about 3/4 of the ice gone and a Pontoon ripping alongshore! With the warmer temps and rain yesterday the larger lakes probably progressed quite a bit.
March 26, 2020 at 8:48 am #1927485I drive by Twin lake just about every day going to and from work. Middle and South Twin looked well over 50% open today.
