Its That Time of Year

Welcoming a great bass bite! This time of year fishing Chisago and South Lindstrom offers some great bass fishing! This past week we fished Thursday with very good success. The bite was strong in the morning with fish hanging on the dock as well as weed flats (green weeds is the ticket). We picked off the active fish throwing willow leaf spinner baits following up areas we knew had fish using Yumm Tubes and softer profiled plastics with 4 inch berkley power worms being especially productive. When fishing docks we would work the outside with faster baits and pitching tubes to shade cover. We ended up with good numbers and a couple of chunky two pound largemouth. The bass didn’t seem to be tight to shore yet, but in the next couple of weeks this bite should improve as frogs move to the lake to winter. The past three years I have fished this bite and it is absolutely on of my favorites. It might be a good time to get the kids out casting spinner baits.

Nice report Fred. It is a fun lake to fish in the fall when they move shallow. Crappies and eyes school up more too.
