Over the winter I will be in the market for a fiberglass 20′ tiller. If it’s a Skeeter it will need to be a 2009. I won’t be concerned about the motor as I will repower to a 150 Merc with the power steering. If you know of anybody who might have a 2009 they will be selling kindly let me know.

    Thank you.

I’m assuming you mean the 2090 model And not a boat made in the year 2009?

No, I’m looking for a WX2000T that was made in 2009.

Same question. And no criticism, just curiosity here.

The 2009 is the only one rated for a 150. The rest are maxed at 115 hp.

No….nothing much reminds me of her these days. I was one of the lucky ones, it was a easy painless split.

    Question –
How fast you go in a 20′ glass tiller with a one fitty?
    50 mph?

My 2014 Skeeter went low 40’s if I remember right with the 115. It’s a fairly fast hull.

You’re gonna repower it with a merc? shock

    First for everything I suppose.

I had a 200 Merc with the power steering on that 208 Lund I had. That power steering is the cats meow. Knock on wood I haven’t had any problems with either Verado I’ve had.

That makes perfect sense to me Dutch, I did not know that. Hope you find one.

Odds are about the same as winning the Powerball but I’ll never find one if I don’t look right?

You know the L6 fits better, and the handle doesn’t move up & down with the trim,,,,,

Anyone know why the 20’ skeeter tillers are limited so low on their max hp?

back in the day, the reason I was told is that Skeeter, being a Yamaha company, didn’t have (and still doesn’t) a power-steering solution for higher-hp outboards, so they kept the hp rating down to a level that would discourage people from ordering hulls without OB’s, and going to Mercury for an outboard with a power tiller steering system.

as shown in the picture I posted, that was a 225hp Verado, that had been re-chipped to 275. It was a fun ride,,,,,

OK, same hull as the V-rod. Who wants to guess at what the purpose of this engineering exercise was?

You can drop a 250hp on the back of a V2090 from Warrior.

    A) I don’t want a 250.

    B) I can’t afford a Warrior.

If I remember I got low to mid 40’s alone with mine when I had it. Depending on the size of the guys I don’t think you are real far off.

I bought a new 2000T back in 2009. It’s had 4+ owners since, but I talked to the last guy and it sold last year for $8000 more than I paid for it new. They are out there.

I thought that boat was great with a 115, but the 150 would be nice on there.

I ran a 2006 Ranger 620T with 150hp Opti. She ran just over 50mph with a tempest, 19″ pitch if memory serves me. That boat was a blast to run. I just went back to a tiller this year. Hope you find/found a Skeeter wx2000t.
