Fished Mequoketa river and Bear Creek today for about 4 hours. Caught two fish and saw very few…. Seems like since the state started stocking these city ponds for ice trout fishing, the amount of carry-over trout or winter rainbows has really gone down… Don’t know if this has anything to do with the lack of trout i’ve seen in many streams the past two years compared to before that, but those trout getting stocked in towns have to come from somewhere.
