The weather was crazy up there The wind never really stopped and I think the direction changed 540 degrees in our 3 day stay. One morning I had to put my shoulder into our door to get out as the snow had drifted up to it considerably. Bite was OK but mostly small ones and you had to work for them, not too aggressive. Glad we brought up a few suckers as that’s what the big walleye came on, as well as some of our bigger keepers. But near the end, dead-sticking/rattle reels was out-fishing jigging 2-1. But we caught a couple of bigger fish, cleaned 5 on the ice for a delicious fish fry, and brought home a limit-and-a-half with one adult and two kids fishing. An experience my boys wont soon forget. And I will cherish that time with them forever!

Back to the topic at-hand though, I took the I-35/Iron Range/ Intl. Falls route up and back and VERY glad I did. Drive home was sketchy, too, but much better than the central route, from what I’ve heard.
