How long will the snow stay?

I think this winter has solidified my wishes to move to TX.

x2 I never thought of moving out of MN, and probably won’t until the kids are done with school (haven’t even started yet). But this is BS. I think it’s been about 5 months since we saw 50 degrees, and most of the last 2 weeks have been December or February weather.

Will be a 2023 year class of fish similiar to the 2013 year class that saved the lake. I’ll take it!

Yes I was thinking the same thing. Late winter gives the fry a “leg” up!

about North of Hwy 2 may be on the cusp of an interesting walleye opener. Always seems to go out right before on those late Springs.

The winter has to be tough on wildlife … no prolonged cold spells, but winter has dragged on for a long time and all the snow … the rain … guess we will see come fall.

Wildlife took it in the shorts this Winter for sure.
    Not just MN either.

    How come I can’t post a link?

I was just going to clear out the mailbox this morning when the mailman came. After he grabbed my mail, he slid open the door, stood up, hung onto the door frame and leaned out and put it in the mailbox. Did that at the neighbor’s also.

After 8.5 inches of snow at MSP last night, the Twin Cities has now moved up to third all time for snowfall this winter at 89.7 inches. These records have been kept since 1895.

The largest April snowstorm in the Twin Cities was the April 13-16, 2018 Thunder Blizzard that dropped 15.8 inches at the Twin Cities International Airport. Another historical snowstorm is the event that unfolded beginning on the morning of April 19th and ending on April 21, 1893. When it was all over 30 inches buried St. Cloud, with 24 inches in a single day.

This winter might not be done yet!!

With 2″ – 3″ of rain (just in two storms) – I would expect this winter is #1 in total precipitation …

    Another 1 – 5″ of snow expected mid-week.

A little bonus with this weather.
I took the SxS out today and it wasn’t easy getting to the spot with the snow and slush. Had it to the floor all the way and it was struggling.
It only took 45 minutes, they were very hungry with some of them shooting off the 32′ bottom and meeting me half way.
    8″ to 12″.
Never have seen the ice this thick, dang near needed the extension.

Seems to good to be true. But it’s fitting. Nothing is more Minnesotan that completely skipping spring.

Straight up bush league. I’m sick of winter just like everyone else is, but going directly to heat and humidity is not much better. There is going to be some flooding if that model Joe posted unfolds. I see 60 degrees on Easter so its not impossible.

I’m guessing that model is a little aggressive, but they’re all pointing toward a significant warmup starting late this week. A couple weeks ago I thought major flooding could be avoided with the slow melt we had going. Not anymore, smaller creeks around us are already near overflowing and we still have a ton of snow on the ground. I feel for those that are going to deal with that.

Looks like high 50s and low 60s from my weather app next week. Obviously that will change.

Here along Pool 4 we hit 60 degrees yesterday afternoon.

I’d say this area being in the 70s late next week is realistic. I’d nearly sell my soul for a month of lows in the 40s and highs around 60. My guess is we will get a week of that if lucky.

Yup! Every day for the last 3 weeks I’ve been lamenting to my wife that I don’t even see one 50 in the long range forecast. Today I when I checked on it, I not only see 50s, but a 60s! I need those temps like air in my lungs at this point!

I’m guessing for the cities and south most the snow will be gone in a week.
